Wiviott Statement on Election Results

Santa Fe, NM - Tonight Don Wiviott, Democrat running for Congress, made the following statement regarding the election results of New Mexico's Third Congressional District Democratic Primary.

"When we set out to accomplish this feat, our goal was to change politics as usual in Northern New Mexico and deliver a brighter future for our state," Wiviott remarked. "While this has been a competitive campaign from the beginning, it appears Ben Ray Lujan has prevailed."

"What we saw tonight was not the defeat of one candidate, but the triumph of thousands of New Mexicans who made their voice loud and clear: Change is needed in Northern New Mexico."

"This campaign ends, but we hope that the people of northern New Mexico will both demand and receive greater opportunity from our political leadership. As working people, we have the right to expect openness and fairness from our government."
